it depends on where you get the engine. A reman is much more than a used, which is cheaper than a reman from the dealer VS somebody like Jasper. Go to Car-Part.com for the used parts in your area and what they sell the engines for. Just follow the prompts. The labor hours it calls for to change a long block(engine block with cylinder head minus the manifolds and "sheet meatal " items-valve covers, oil pan) is about 17 hours which in our shop would be about $1400 labor plus the parts to include engine, oil, filter, spark plugs, cap rotor wires-you get the picture.If going for a reman from an independant builder, expect to pay between 3 and 4K clams turn-key
Also, with the head missing, there would be a substantial core charge added to the reman price for missing parts..
