People these days will go to horrible lengths to build an exact replica of a muscle car, I still haven't decided if this is a good thing, or a bad thing, on one hand people are giving it their best not to let these cars just disappear from the planet, and on the other hand they are using their knowledge and muscle car prowess to rip unsuspecting people off, and that is by no means a good thing.

I live for these old cars, and I love them to the core, a person, or shop should never use their knowledge to rip another person off, it makes them, and the entire industry look bad, you know how it goes, you may never hear one thing about a shop, until god forbid they do something wrong, and it's wrong to rip people off, it doesn't help anybody, not the cars, not the people, and most of all, not the shops.

People with the knowledge of how these cars were built can make an almost exact copy of one, in all but two respects, original engines are very hard to find, and to build a numbers matching clone is almost impossible for the ordinary shop, it may take years to find some of the parts to do the job, although anything is possible if you have the time.

People also go to great time and expense to build clones of the mopar hemi cars also, and there getting truly hard to find, some fetching over $2,000,000 on the market, obviously not in most people's price range, I see clones going for very high prices also, so look hard, get as much information on the car that you want as you can, if the person selling the car is unable to give you the information that you need, be very leery about the purchasing of the car.

Classic car can be a risky venture, unless you study and learn all you can about the particular car that you want to buy, it's hard for the person selling the car to argue with true knowledge, it's hard for them to fool a person who really knows the about the car that they want to buy, know what engines were available in that car, know what transmissions were available, know how to identify all the things that are important when buying a classic car.

Which one? and why?

Ford, Volkswagen, Chevy, Pontiac, Jeep, Mopar, or Renault. lol

Obviously it depends on what you need your vehicle for. I've driven VW diesels since 1982, and I'd never drive anything else for a sedan. They're the absolute best gas mileage for the lowest maintenance cost and they last forever. My pickup truck, however, is a Ford F-350 Turbo Diesel since VW doesn't make a big enough truck to meet my needs. I'd've rather had a Dodge Ram 3500 diesel, but their interior did not meet my needs when I had to purchase mine. Mopar is an obvious YES if I like Dodge. I would NEVER own any GM product for obvious reasons of low gas mileage and high maintenance costs. I'd rather have anything German, whether it be VW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, etc., for obvious reasons. God Bless you.
