Now available is the COMP Cams Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC and DOHC Adjustable Cam Gear Set, which provides up to 12 degree of camshaft advance or retard. This ability to adjust the cam timing is important when performance engine modifications are completed. The cam gear set installs in exactly the same way as the original factory gears (already equipped with the proper sensor as well) and work with the Ford OE timing chains. HELP, Could it be cam shaft?????
HELP! My hubby has gone on a trip & taken my car (with my permission). He called tonight to say it suddenly started really banging under the bonnet, it was very low on oil - practically none & the oil light only flicked on once then went off again. He did top the oil back up. He called his dad who said it could be the cam shaft bearings???? Could it be anything else and any idea on how much it will cost? I know it will be expensive but how expensive, Could i claim on fully comp insurance/ would it be worth it? Is it safe for him to drive? The car is a 1.6, petrol ford focus, 1999 (T Reg). Sorry there is lots of questions here I would be really happy if you can answer any of them. I don't want to get rid of the car, cos it has sentimental value. Many Thanks
Running one low on oil can result in banging noises from the piston skirts, the main crankshaft bearings, the rod bearings, the camshaft bearings, the lifters, there are literally a dozen things it could be.
