Here are some more information for Crank Pulley Nissan:

In part two of this automotive self-help series we will continue to determine other electrical faults once you, the motorist, have determined that your battery is not at fault.
We will move to checking the "v" belt driven by the crankshaft pulley that drives the water pump and alternator as well. In most newer vehicles, this belt is quite wide and flat and is referred to as the serpentine belt, which drives all the accessories from the water pump, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump and alternator. If you have access to this belt (in some vehicles this area is very constricted), move it up and down to check if there is excess play or movement. If there is, then there may be slippage, resulting in the alternator not being able to charge the battery sufficiently. A simple adjustment to tighten the belt may be all that is needed. This is usually accomplished by loosening a couple of bolts holding the alternator and using a metal bar to move the alternator to tighten the belt and retightening the bolts while exerting pressure on the bar. However, before tightening the belt check to see if there are any cracks or frays. You might discover that the belt may need to be replaced. If that is the case, it's better to replace it now than find yourself stranded with a broken belt, on a highway far from a service repair garage.
If the battery and fan belt check out to be fine then the vehicle should be taken to a qualified service repair center where additional checks can be made to determine what the problem is.
Further to the battery and fan belt checks, lighting problems can be attributed to bad connections in the bulb holders and water ingress. The bad connection could be as simple as the bulb not secured tightly enough in the socket, or it may be the result of some corrosion on the bulb contacts, bulb holder or both. Water ingress is usually the result of the lens cover leaking water into the bulb holder assembly and accumulating there. Over time this will result in corrosion of the bulb holder contacts. A quick remedy is to lightly sand the corrosion off from both the bulb and bulb holder using emery cloth. Emery cloth is basically sandpaper used specifically on metal, and can be obtained from any auto parts retailer.
Checking the headlights, tail lights, brake lights and turn signals is a great idea, at the same time you perform your battery check. Once a month is a good time interval to do these checks.
What was once a simple job to remove a round or rectangular defective sealed-beam headlight, now has turned into a diverse and complex job because of the headlight systems used in today's cars and trucks. The right tools are required to do the job. You can have the right tools and still encounter rust problems, and you end up with more problems than you counted on. A simple job in the past to change a headlight cost $8.00 or so, where now the labor charge to change a bulb has turned into a $35.00 job.
If you are the adventuresome type and like to tinker on your own vehicle at home, be sure to get sound advice before you attempt any job that requires even a modicum of skill. Make sure you have the right tools, the service manual on the vehicle you are working on and the knowledge to do the work.
When do you decide to have a professional diagnose the problem? You should always bear in mind that the last thing you need is to get in over your head in what may have been perceived as a simple repair job. If the problem is fuel related or computer related, special tools to diagnose the problem are required. Smaller garages may not have the special diagnostic tools to be able to check your car or truck, so taking the vehicle to a larger garage or dealership may be the wisest choice.
When you are getting a computer diagnostic check always tell the technician to do the diagnosis for a specific fault and ask for a quote for the diagnosis. That way you will get a good idea of the parts that will be needed, the labor cost to do the job, a brief description of what went wrong and what it will take to fix the problem. Armed with this knowledge, you will know how much it will cost to repair your vehicle before the work commences.
Unforeseen repairs are a reality, and will occur from time to time. To avoid unpleasant surprises, make sure you communicate with the service repair center that you want to be informed of any additional repairs that may be needed before the work is performed.
To recap, make sure to check your vehicle's battery, lighting systems and belts once a month. The very last thing you need as a motorist, is to be stranded on a highway on some dark, cold and drizzly night. Right?

Air Flow Sensor, Etc. About Five Cars With Sensors
Car Sensor A car computer system input devices, which run the car in various conditions of information, such as speed, temperature of various media, Engine Operating conditions, etc. into the computer lost the telecommunications number to the engine in top working condition. Many vehicle sensors to determine when the sensor malfunction should not only consider the sensor itself, but should consider the failure of the entire circuit. Therefore, to find fault, in addition to check the sensors, we should also check the wiring harness, connectors and sensors and electronic control unit of the circuit between. Now we come to know about the car's main sensor.
Air Flow Sensor Air flow sensor is inhaled into the air Telecommunications No. sent to the electronic control unit (ECU), as the decision to spray one of the fundamental signal. According to different measuring principle, can be divided into rotary vane air flow sensor (PREVIA Toyota station wagon), Karman vortex air flow sensor Tour (Toyota Lexus LS400 sedan), Hot-wire Air Flow Sensor (Nissan Maxima car
VG30E engines and domestic passenger TJ6481AQ4 Tianjin Sanfeng equipped with the Volvo B230F engine) and the hot-film air flow sensor for the four types. Volume flow rate for the first two types, the latter two for the mass flow type. Currently the main use of hot wire and hot-film air flow sensor air flow sensor two.
Inlet pressure sensor Inlet pressure sensor can detect the engine load conditions within the intake manifold absolute pressure, and converted into electrical signals and sent to the computer with the speed signal, as the decision to the basic fuel injection amount of injector basis. Domestic Audi 100 Car (V6 engine), Santana 2000, Beijing Cherokee (25L engines), Toyota Crown 3.0 car all adopts such a pressure sensor. Is now widely used Semiconductor Pressure-sensitive Resistance Inlet air pressure sensor.
Throttle Position Sensor Throttle position sensor installed in the throttle, the throttle is used to detect the opening. It is through the lever body and throttle linkage, and thus reflect the different engine operating conditions. This sensor can be the engine of the different conditions tested and enter the electronic control unit (ECU), thereby control the amount of different fuel injection. There are three types: contact-type switch Throttle Position Sensor (Santana 2000 and Tianjin trimodal bus), linear variable resistor-type throttle position sensor (Beijing Cherokee), integrated throttle position sensor (Audi 100 V6 engine).
Crankshaft Position Sensor Also known as crank angle sensor, a computer-controlled ignition system, the most important sensors, whose role is to detect the TDC signal, crank angle signal and engine speed signals, and entered into the computer so the computer can press cylinder The ignition sequence of instructions issued by the best ignition timing. Crankshaft position sensor, there are three types: electromagnetic pulse crankshaft position sensor, Crankshaft Position Sensor Hall Effect (Santana 2000 and Beijing Cherokee), the photoelectric effect-type crankshaft position sensor. Crankshaft position sensor is different, its control and the control precision are different. Crankshaft position sensor is usually installed on the crankshaft pulley or sprocket side, some installed in the camshaft front, and some are installed in Distributor (Santana 2000).
Knock Sensor Knock sensor installed in the engine's cylinder on the situation at any time to monitor the engine knock. Currently used are resonant and non-resonant two categories.

performance parts help with engine life?
girl friend and i are having a dispute about some performance parts being added to a car. she thinks if you mess with the OEM equipment that the car is more susceptible to breaking down easier. for example a lightened flywheel, lighter crank pulleys and a cold air intake would be better for an engine i think. what do you guys think? in reference to a 89 Nissan 240sx
It depends on whether or not you actually know what you are doing. Those parts, except for the cold air intake, all properly installed may make your engine last perhaps a tenth of a percent longer. It might get you a couple hundred miles or so longer on that engine before it breaks down. However, that list of parts is normally not installed on a car that is meant for longevity and economy. That list of parts is normally installed on a car so one can race it. Racing a car can and will cause it to break down more often than driving a car normally. Also, installing those parts will most likely decrease your fuel mileage. Installing those parts will lighten the rotating mass, giving the engine less inertia. This, while great for racing because it will spin up and spin down faster, is less helpful in daily driving.
