Okay I need to find a car part?

Okay my brother-n-law told me that I need to find a Crank Kit so where do I get one? Is It the same thing as a crankshaft? Its for my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo V6 3.2 L. He told me to search the web and see what I can find and a rebuilt one will work or he can take the crashed one to a mechine shop. Im out of a ride untile it gets fixed.
brother-n-law is a mechanic and the 2001 Isuzu was given too me in this condition it was free and my bro in law said he will fix it for me If I buy parts. I totaled my car in an accident. The Isuzu is nice interior and exterior just needs engine repair and I need a car.

A "crank kit" contains a replacement reground crankshaft with matching main and rod bearings. Most major parts stores can get them for you. Your other option is to have your existing craknshft reground at an automotive machine shop, then purchase the bearings there or your local parts store.
