Here are some more information for Ford Focus Dohc:

Kia has two exciting engines available with their Sportage SUV: the 1,975 cc 4 cylinder inline engine is available only in the Sportage LX model while the 2,656 cc v6 is available in either the Sportage LX or Sportage EX models. Both are made with an iron block and cast aluminum heads.
The 1,975 cc inline 4 cylinder features a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) configuration with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT). This technology constantly adjusts the valve timing in relation to intake, the fuel system, and exhaust as the engine is running. The effect of CVVT is more power delivered uniformly throughout the RPM range and lower emissions. The compression ratio of this engine is 10.1.1. The power delivered from this engine is impressive: 140 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. Torque at 4,500 rpm is 136 foot pounds. The average fuel economy for this is 22 miles per gallon (mpg) in the front wheel drive models and 21 mpg in the all wheel drive model.
For customers looking for a little bit more power in their Sportage, Kia offers a V6 with a considerable performance boost, although at some detriment to fuel economy. This 2,656 cc DOHC boasts 173 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 178 foot pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. The compression ratio of this is 10.0.1. The gas mileage for this V6 engine is 20 mpg in every configuration.
Kia's decision to offer two engines in its Sportage product line continues in the 2010 model. While by no means exceptional in performance, these two engines offer customers options for either fuel economy or performance. Coming with the classy look of the Sportage, they won't go wrong with either choice.

Chevrolet Cobalt, At Your Local Used Car Dealership
Its acceleration is impeccable, its remarkable stability and grip in every curve is pleasantly impressive, and the Chevrolet Cobalt is a winner in the world of used autos. The proven effectiveness of the engine putting out up to 205bhp (only available on the SS Supercharged model) with a just a 2.0L engine, making it a fuel efficient but powerful used auto.
The Cobalt can be defined as a real thoroughbred "Can Do" used vehicle, a description that fits because it has reached record speeds relative to other used vehicles in its class. With this model GM has done battle to recover the ground lost in this sector of small vehicles, which is a highly competitive area of the used vehicle market, which includes its well placed rivals Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Ford Focus used models.
The pre owned Chevrolet Cobalt is the second offensive line for a double attack on the market for small cars, and competes in the emerging segment of the used luxury compact. Most of the Chevrolet Cobalt sedans were manufactured in a format of basic equipment levels, used LS, LT and SS. The used coupé is more expressive version will come in base, LS, SS and SS Supercharged versions.
The used sedan has that air of elegance and simple optically sharp lines. In general, the performance and economy figures are very good, and the used Chevrolet Cobalt achieves that balanced output with some skill. The coupé was designed in a style that is not too different from current Cavalier two door, and carries taillights inspired by the design of the Corvette, though wisely avoiding the implementation of a comprehensive panel that is transparent as they did with the used Impala sedan to achieve a similar effect.
The Cobalt also offers used Sedan and Coupe versions with a total of eight levels of equipment, including a refined interior, Ecotec four-cylinder engines, based on the solid architecture from Delta. The Sedan offers a sophisticated look combined with a higher driving position for a better view of the road, making it a highly popular choice when buying a used car.
In regard to Coupe, based on the style of sedan from the A-pillar forward, the Cobalt Coupe reveals a reverse C-pillar, which directs the eye to the optical rounded rear, features common with used Chevrolet vehicles.
The ventilated disc brakes to the front with a single piston calipers and rear drum brakes are standard on composite basic models. In models LS, LT and SS, brakes with four-channel ABS are standard fixtures adding a lot of safety for a low price.
In SS models, disc brakes with ABS on four wheels, are standard, a used Cobalt also features improved electronic traction control. The Cobalt offers three Ecotec four-cylinder engines, inspired by their experience in racing, a proven automatic gearbox is available and two versions of their stick gearboxes.
The 2.2-liter Ecotec engine has an output estimated 140 hp and 204 Nm of torque. The combination of greater engine capacity and variable distribution technology, allows the Ecotec 2.4-liter, to offer one of the largest estimated torque, 231 Nm, that's a lot of push for a small economical used vehicle.
The engines of the 2.2 liter and 2.4 liter versions with (DOHC), have aluminum blocks and cylinder heads, valve lifters with rotary cam tracking, camshaft activated by chain, and so much more. If you think this used car would suit your needs, check out your local car dealership to see if they can offer you this exiting used set of wheels.

Turbocharging a Ford Focus 2000 with 120k miles, just for experience/any tools needed..look?
Iam getting a 2000 Ford Focus with 120,000 miles on it.
For learning purposes I was planing on getting this crappy car, and putting a Cheap ebay Turbo kit on it for $700.
This is a automatic, now my question is.
Is it OK to turbocharge a Automatic car?
Do I need special electronics to make this work?
Do I need to tap into the engine (using the existing taps) to oil feed my Turbo?
This is a DOHC 2.0 00' Focus.
Iam getting the car for $250, runs but cant get inspected because it has alot of problems ( Window wont roll up) (Ignition Key problems) runs..
Remember this is just for learning.
What do you think?
Honestly for the same price you could prolly pick up any old chrysler/dodge turbo car thats streetable and learn more from getting to drive it everyday Just about everytyhing from 85-92 could come in a turbo version. and most go for cheaper than the turbo is worth, aside from the occasional head gasket blowing ( once you get some practice one can do one in 45 mins and a 20 doller investment)
