Refurbished products can offer a significant discount to the cost of buying an item that is brand new. An item referred to as "refurbished" does not necessarily have any problems with it. Many times refurbished items are those that were purchased by a buyer, opened, and then immediately returned because the buyer decided he/she did not want it anymore. As soon as the box was opened, it became used; sellers are required to classify these products as either used or refurbished when re-selling.
The key difference between new and refurbished products is the warranty that comes with it. Many times the original manufacturer warranty is at least one year, while refurbished items will have warranties of 90 days or less. Buying a refurbished item allows the consumer to save a significant amount on the purchase price; however, the warranty guarantee of the refurbished item may cover a shorter period of time and the consumer should consider this as a potential extra cost. If an item breaks down after the short warranty period provided, the repair cost may be significantly higher than any savings made on the initial purchase.
To protect an investment in a new product, a consumer may want to consider purchasing an extended warranty. The warranty extension will protect the consumer once the original manufacturer warranty expires. In the event of a problem, the consumer can rest assured knowing he/she is protected.
Buyer beware! Consumers looking for a deal on a refurbished item should remain cost conscious because many store bought extended warranty plans for refurbished items are overpriced. At the local retail store there is a reason why the agent tries so hard to sell extended warranties: they are over priced. A common misconception is that extended warranties need to be purchased at the time of sale. This is simply not true. Extended warranties can be purchased as long as 90 days remain on the original manufacturer warranty. For refurbished products, as long as there is a 90 day original manufacturer warranty attached to it, an extended warranty can be purchased after the sale. To save money, purchase extended warranty plans that have identical warranty protection from an online provider at a significantly cheaper price compared to the plans purchased in stores.
Ultimately the decision on whether to purchase extended warranty protection must take into account the cost of the product, the expected useful life and how much risk you are willing to accept.

Reduced Bump With Acura Shocks
A suspension system serves an important role in an automobile. It ensures that drivers can control their vehicles when passing twists, turns, and bumps on the road, and keep the cars at a leveled position. Acura, Honda's luxury car making arm, rely on a nimble suspension system to maintain optimum passenger comfort. Acura's lofty position on the upscale automotive market is due partly to its capacity to provide unbridled comfort for its vehicles' owners and passengers. Because of this, Acura makes sure it produces highly dependable parts for their vehicles’ suspension system. One of these is the Acura Shocks.
When Acura vehicles hit bumps on the road, the suspension system makes sure that pressure is applied at the opposite direction. The spring plays a significant role in this situation. Springs tend to keep moving. To address this problem, Acura Shocks were designed to slow the springs down. This is done through compression of the hydraulic oil and transformation of the moving suspension's energy into heat energy.
As the oil in the Acura Shocks is compressed, the molecules are forced into close contacts. The friction that forms between them is then released as heat. When the two chambers of oil go through the alternating compression process, the pressure is equalized, and the suspension's motion is stopped.
Because of its function, a typical Acura Shock is constantly exposed to high levels of pressure and vibration, to which the suspension component might eventually succumb. Replacement, therefore, is always the best option when maintaining Acura Shocks. That way, an Acura can still have a capable suspension system to keep it in a controlled position, providing the passengers a luxuriously comfortable riding experience the carmaker boasts of.

What type of oil to put in a Honda/Acura Integra?
hi i am using 1997 Integra GSi, 1834cc B18B2 engine(No VTEC). it's a well engineered DOHC engine, it's recommend to use fully Synthetic oil with very low friction rate just like those new high performance engines out there. 0-30, 5-30, 10-40. but problem is my integra already had 260,000 kms on it. engine still goes hard but a bit rough and has big 'raining noise'
so, should i use those full synthetic oil, or some 15-50, 20-50, 10-60 for high mileage protection? as those high-miles oils never comes in full-synthetic on 0-30... please help
btw, the engine currently not losing any oil on 10-40w, should i move to a thinner 0-30w ?
recommend to use fully Synthetic oil of any weight you wish but id just go with a 10w40 is what ive always used in all my cars been driving 35 years and working in shops most of my life
