Honda civic maintenence required light?

I have a honda civic and when I got my oil changed the maintenence required light turned on and hasn't turned off since. There is supposed to be a way to turn it off (it has happened before), but when I called the honda dealership they did not explain it very well. If anyone knows that would be great, so I won't have to drive back there, where they will probably charge me. Thanks!

put in the key and turn the car on but dont turn on the engine. push that botton on the gauges in and wait until it goes away.
