Should I buy the non-VTEC equiped Honda Civic?

I have found a very nice 2005 Honda Civic that is equipped with the 1.7 L I4. It does not have the V-TEC technology and is not very powerful. I like every other aspect of this car except this one. Is this a BIG ENOUGH reason for me not to buy the car, or not? And please tell me more about the VTEC technology.

It's just a 12 horsepower and 4ft lbs of torque difference.

On a SOHC engine, it just provides a little more pick-up in the higher rpms. It is nice to have, simply to add a little more fun while driving, but it's not that big of a deal.
