How much horsepower does this engine have?
1972 402 chevy big block, with 10/10 crank shaft with TRW bearings, con rods, 030 TRW 11/1 RATIO flat top forged pistons with perfect circle rings. 3/4 crane street cam w/ crane, hydrualic lifters & a crane double roller timing chain set, new push rods & rocker arm assys. pivetts w/ poly-loick rocker arm nuts. Holley dual feed 750 carb. 400 turbo tansmisson. 12bolt 390 ratio rear.

That engine is less than 8:1 compression. Aside from who I am from a recognition and experience point, I HAVE an all original numbers matching 1971 4 spd 402 car. It has 820 casting cylinder heads. The pistons are in the hole close to .030 at TDC, and you have a flat top piston with top ring locations WAY down on the piston, aside from the fact that the head has a 120 CC combustion chamber volume. Mine is stock from carb to oil pan except the cam and the car runs 11.35 1/4 mile times with NO power adders, it idles good, and I do not have to "cluth" it to drive it in traffic because it has street able low rpm torque.
One of the BEST things you can do here is Zero Deck the block and use a .022 steel shim head gasket. No matter what people tell you, pistons will not hit the heads, man. Unless it has some ridiculous loose piston to bore clearances. Car is going to be a pig with the Crane cam if your Lobe Separation Angle on that cam is wider than 110 when combined with lots of duration, as the engine has no compression and the wide LSA will simply knock all of the cylinder pressure and hence acceleration plum out of the engine. This is even more of an issue with an Automatic transmission vs a manual. In this case, it will run better with the stock cam vs the Crane. Let people throw duration at .050 numbers, but that's 10% of the critical information to compare cams. It means very little. You don't need a big cam, you need a cam with a really steep opening ramp to lie to the engine. We have the steepest opening ramps in the industry.(Seriously.)
Your existing combo of parts will be hard pressed to make 1 HP per cubic inch and is going to very likely be a low rpm pig on the street at part throttle. But I'm just a cam designer and full competition race engine builder, I don't know anything. Don't mention the multiple world records and world championships my cams have won.
