What c/s fits a 454 chevy,block casting #286?
I have a long block but everything points to a 1 piece seal c/s but it has the 2 piece seal crank in it.i believe its a mark IV model around a 90 model and came out of a 3500HD,can there actually be a factory installed 2 piece seal c/s in it? the #039 2 piece crank is in it but it has me puzzled.looks like a 1 piece seal block. thanks
I didn't think they would interchange directly. There are adapters made to make a two piece block accept the one piece crank but I don't know about the other way around. Does it have the seal mounting body bolted onto it? Does it have a place to bolt one? I agree with you it is puzzling.
