Here are some more information for Mustang Cobra Svt:

In 1967 the first big-block Mustang was introduced, the S-code 390 which was rated at 320 hp. This Mustang was not able to compete with the hot new SS 396 Camaro , so in 1968 the 428 Cobra Jet engine was introduced, giving the Mustang true muscle car status, but then why stop there? In February 1968 when Bunkie Knudsen arrived in Dearborn he brought with him some strong ideas concerning the Mustang. He believed the popular pony car was a good looking automobile, but that there were a tremendous amount of people out there that wanted a good looking automobile that could perform. He also knew that the Z/28 Camaro, created with SCCA Trans-Am road racing in mind, could handle and stop as well as it could accelerate. Big block pony cars were faster, but left something to be desired going through the curves with all that weight up front.
Bunkie was able to lure several GM Design Engineers over to Ford in 1968. One of them was designer Larry Shinoda, the man who had drawn up the Z/28's sport image in 1967. Shinoda was tasked with besting a performance legend that he had helped to create. Shinoda contributed the new cars stripes, spoilers and window slats, as well as its name. Two Boss Mustangs were born in 1969, both originally developed concurrently by Ford's performance contractor, Kar Kraft Engineering, in Brighton, Michigan.
The Boss 429 was also built in response to Chrysler's 426 Hemi and it's success in Nascar. Ford built a 427 Hemi-headed single overhead cam motor first, but it wasn't considered stock enough for the series so along came the "semi-Hemi" head 429. Kar Kraft was given the task of wedging a 429 into the Mustang. Quarter-mile times were reported to be in the lower 14s. Although another of the hot rod magazines, Car Craft, slightly modified the stock 429 and got a 1/4 mile in the mid 12s. The street cars came from the factory with a conservative cam and a somewhat small carburetor.
Starting with the 1969 model year the Ford brought the road racing Mustang program in house by creating the Boss 302 with styling by Larry Shinoda, suspension was design by Kar Kraft. Engineer Matt Donner was the man responsible for the excellent Boss 302 chassis, which quickly impressed the critics with the way it hugged the road. The engine was a Ford 5.0L block with the new 351 Cleveland heads. The car was originally to be called the Trans Am, until Ford found out GM had already licensed the name from the SCCA.
The Boss 302 was rated at 290 HP because insurance companies were beginning to penalize the muscle cars by tacking on higher charges to any car rated over 300 HP. Actual horsepower was closer to 350. (These are Gross HP figures, not Net, as used today). Race versions made 450 HP at over 8,000 RPMs.
Boss 302s also ran in Nascar's Grand American (GA) series. The car came with a wide-ratio or close-ratio 4-speed top loader. A 3.50:1 rear gear was standard with 3.91 and 4.30 optional. Front discs are rear drum brakes and 15-inch wheels were standard. Road tests at the time put 1/4-mile performance in the upper 14-second range. However, Super Stock magazine tweaked a '70 Boss 302 and put slicks on to get a time in the mid-13s.
How did the Boss 302 compare to the Chevy Z28? Well it seems that is was very close indeed. Chevrolet's Trans-Am Camaro took home the SCCA racing championship in 1969, while Ford's Boss 302 put the Mustang back on top in 1970. As for street performance, both machines relied on specially built 290 horsepower 302 cubic inch small block V8's. Performance was so close as to be a toss-up in most street or track encounters.
In late 1970 Ford stopped all factory-sponsored racing. So regrettably the fun had to end ... for now.

03 Ford Mustang
The 2003 Ford Mustang is offered with a new Mach 1 model which hasn't been around for a couple decades. This new version comes with a lot of additional features and body accents. The regular models still are as good as ever and have been slightly tweaked from the most recent previous models. The 'Stang remains a great choice for buyers who are looking to enter the performance car market without spending a large amount of money. Mustangs can be customized in a variety of ways ranging from the very inexpensive to fully loaded works of art that will cost a decent amount of money.
The usual trim packages of recent times are still offered for the '03 model year including the V6 Deluxe, V6 Premium, GT deluxe, GT premium, and the re-introduced Mach 1. Also available for V6 models is the pony package which adds value and extra features for a really great price. V6 Deluxe models come with quite a few standard features considering it is a basic package. Included are bucket seats, CD players, 17 inch wheels, cruise control, and tilt steering wheels just to name a few. Step into the Premium V6 package and you get fog lamps, rear spoilers and side scoops, CD changers, custom designed interior fabrics, and so much more. The pony package will upgrade owners to body pin striping, and leather wrapped steering wheels and upholstery. GT Deluxe and premium models are rather similar to the V6 packages except the Premium package comes with more interior and exterior body accents.
The new Mach 1 model is a whole different ball game offering the utmost in luxury and performance. Ford decided to place the impressive V8 engine from the F150 into these cars to make them good for 300 horsepower or more. Also revamped is the SVT Cobra model which comes with more power than any other, utilizing a 390 horsepower V8 engine from the SVT lightning pickup that combines drivability with raw power. Also available on all high end models are 18 inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Also upgraded on upper level packages are the suspension systems with higher rated rear springs added to the independent suspension system. The tubular cross brace and bushings have been enhanced as well giving the car an even sturdier handling experience. Custom gas charged Bilstein shocks have been added to both the front and rear of the vehicle.
Somehow, the 2003 Ford Mustang is able to remain very fair in the fuel economy arena as well. As long as drivers aren't going full-speed all the time, they should be able to get number similar to a regular full-size sedan. For city driving the 'Stang gets 17 mpg, while highway driving see about 25 mpg fuel economy. Since the Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Thunderbird aren't produced for the '03 season it is somewhat difficult to compare these numbers to anything else. Safety is another area where the Mustang excels and it usually receives top ratings for both front and side impact crash tests.
Buyers who want performance and power without a huge price tag seriously need to consider one of the 2003 Mustang models. Being the only Pony Car in production makes it a great piece of American history that is still fun to drive, and an economical choice.

2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R?
ok guys if you've seen my later posts i love cars and i take pride in building new ones, i just ordered and received a 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R for 53,000 it came bone stock nothing to it, just for humor we all know they all come with the 4.6L 3V SOHC V8 well that isnt good enough i am thinking of pulling the supercharged 5.4L V8 out of my truck redoing the gears and tune and computer ecu setup and running it that way, i also have seen it is a very popular swap. my question is going to be though what aftermarket parts should i put into this? i already have a Whipple Supercharger on it thats it so far, makeing 15.0 PSI of boost i was thinking just letting ford take it over but anyone with better parts let me know thanks best answer goes to most thorough im me for pics of the car it is simply beautiful i even have pics of the swap
yes my mistake sry it is the 5.4L my god lol what parts could i put on there? best for equal power/torque ratio
Well have you ever thought of twin turbo charging it? I built one for a customer and it made close to 850 whp.. alot more than what a supercharged 5.4 engine would make

I had a short in the headlight assemble causing the headlights to go off going down the highway. My air conditioning quit working, the switch went bad.
