what is the max you can bore out a 350 4bolt main?
can anybody give me the specs to a 4bolt main that they have made into a high performance engine?
what kind of pistons, rods, crank, cam, ported headers, shaved headers, stroked?
i am realy lookin to juice the guts of my 350 4 bolt for my dad... please.. if you cant give all the info, i would be happy woth some.
hand it to me... i am familiar with automotive jargon... its just that this will be my first high preformace engine.
i would like it to be a 1/4 mile engine... not a rock climber.
.060" is the max safe overbore but not all blocks go go that far. After .040" I sonic test before going to .060" over and can tell you 2/3rd of them I tested dont have enough wall thickness to run at .060" over
Listing a bunch of specs aint gonna mean much unless we know your budget, what the engine is going in, etc.
A parts ist for an engine in a 4500 lbs truck, is gonna be much diff than the parts used for a 2500 lbs vega and thats gonna be diff than parts used in a 3300 lbs camaro
If you want it street legal, pump fuel friendly heres a good basic idea
9.5 to 10.0:1 compression
scat crank and rods
ARP main studs, head bolts and rod bolts
TRW, Ross, Wiseco, JE, SRP, Probe forged pistons
GM vortec heads or canfeild, brodix, AFR alum heads (180-195cc intake runner)
RPM air gap intake
Cam flat tappet hyd or mech. Size cant really say with out knowing compression, car installed in, gear ratio, tire height, etc
