why is my power steering resivor bubbling over?

I was going to change my power steering belt and i was not so smart and i bought a altenator belt and tried to put it on the power steering pully and broke two bolts in the prosses so i finally found out it was the wrong belt while i was replacing the belt i accidently pulled off one of the power steering hoses to the resivor but i replaced it and and filled the fluid back up jacked up the car and turned they wheel both ways to get the air bubbles out and i set it down and turned and it made this grinding sound from the pulley and soon after the fluid keeps bubbling out the top of the resivor and im too scared to drive it i dont want anything else to go bad what do i need to do? I have a 98 civic lx
no i went to they auto zone and bought honda power steering fluid but i will drain it and refill it

I think the key here is that you filled the reservoir back up and probably used ATF instead of power steering fluid.

Power steering fluid has anti-foam additives to keep it from bubbling (foaming).

you need to loosen the fitting on the pressure side of the system, start the vehicle and allow the fluid to drain from the pump or reservoir. As the fluid gets low, continually add new power steering fluid until you see the same color fluid coming out of the hose as you are adding to the reservoir. You'll know that the power steering system has been replaced with the proper fluid.

Make sure the fitting is re-tightened and that there aren't any leaks.
