Money is always tight and buying magic trick props can be expensive. If you are just getting started learning magic trick why not make some of your own. Your audience will not really mind and when you become a more established magician you can purchase professional equipment.
Here are ideas to make your own equipment:
A magic wand. Get yourself a good old fashioned pencil. The kind you still need to sharpen with a pencil sharpener. Get some colored duct tape and some bright electrical tape. These are wonderful and now come in all sorts of beautiful and vivid color choices. Wrap the base middle of the pencil with your choice of colored duct tape. Using the electrical tape which is thinner in size wrap just each end of the pencil. Whalah! You have a very cool magic wand for your tricks.
PVC pipe is great for any tubes you may use for magic or to hide things in. Instead of buying the plastic or metal tubing so to a local lumber yard and see if they have scrap pieces of PVC pipe left over. They may even give the left over pieces to you. Again the duct tape makes a great covering for the outside of the tube and you can cut these tape to create unusual designs.
Need a Magic Bag why not use the Capri sun pouches to great a bag and connect all the edges with duct tape. This is easy and way cool. Cut the duct tape in thinner strips and attach on the insides of the bags. You will not see all the tape and it looks cool.
Need a table covering and a table. Go do your local wholesale store or appliance store and ask for a large box. You can paint this and cover with old curtains or sheets.
Get a cape. If it is close to Halloween, go to your local store the day after the holiday. You will be able to get a cape for your costume almost free. They usually have things half off and if you can wait a week or more you can get things at 75 to 80 percent off the original price.

How do I replace the front timing belt idler on a 1999 Ford Contour, small 4 cyl.?
Under timing belt cover, allen-head bolt on idler appears accessible. Would like to release some belt tension, R&R idler & re-tension belt, being careful not to let belt move. Will mark belt & pulleys beforehand. Is this possible? Suggestions?
now I read your problem, ok lets start with some critical points once you have removed the plasic or metal belt cover you really should set the upper and lower pullys to the pointing locaters but in a push you need to take a sraight edge and create a line across the pully and on the block use as small a permanent marker as you can a tip as the pullies must be spot on when belt is reinstalled. your tensioner is spring loaded and bolted in place when you remove the belt the pully will mostly go unsprung.
