Additional features include: an adjustable rear wheel strap, compatibility with wheelbases up to 48 inches and tire widths up to 2.6 inches and more. The world's best-selling fork mount carrier. View larger. The Best-selling Fork Mount Carrier The Thule 517 Peloton Fork Mount Rooftop Bicycle Carrier is the world's number-one selling fork mount, and it just got a make over. From road bikes, to disc brakes and fat tires, the Peloton is up to the challenge. The Peloton fork-mount rooftop bike carrier fits all disc and suspension combinations with standard 9mm axles. This bike carrier has a dual-lock design that locks both the bike to the carrier, and the carrier to your rooftop rack. The wheel tray fits tires up to 2.6 inches wide with high-profile rims, and carries bicycles with wheelbases up to 48 inches. This system fits both Thule and Yakima load bars, and is Thule One-Key system compatible so you can easily keep it locked and secure without a bunch of extra keys. Please note, locks are not included. Installation and Use The Peloton comes nearly fully assembled, requiring only the included hex wrench and your own two hands to easily assemble in little time. Installation begins with the combined Peloton head assembly / wheel tray which provide the base for securing a bike's forks (head assembly) and a stable mounting platform for you back tire (wheel tray). Following some simple preassembly to these components, users have just to attach the head section and wheel tray to their rack's load bar with the hex wrench and included knobs as well as the included mounting plates and other hardware that allows for square or rounded cross bars. The Peloton is now ready for your bike. Clamp with adjustment dial provides the perfect hold for fork dropouts. View larger. Corrosion resistant double-wall aluminum tray provides maximum strength and rigidity. View larger. To load your bike remove the front wheel and stow it in your vehicle. Next, open the head assembly cover/clamp exposing the pressure dial. Loosening and/or tightening this dial creates initial space along the skewer running through the head assembly that your front fork's dropouts connect to. Now, place your bike's fork dropouts onto the skewer ends evenly on both sides. Adjust the pressure dial to ensure a firm, but not overly tight hold on your dropouts, then close the cover/clamp partially. Correct clamping pressure occurs automatically when half way down the cover/clamp's arc you feel resistance. If you feel this, everything should be aligned correctly and you can fully close the cover/clamp. If not, repeat for the best results. At this point Peloton owners who have opted for a One-Key lock, sold separately and installed into the top of the head assembly, can lock their bike to the carrier and the carrier to the rack simultaneously. A ratcheting wheel strap is provided to secure the rear wheel to the wheel tray and includes an adapter for use with road bike wheels. To remove your bike simply remove the wheel strap you installed, unlock the lock on the head assembly (if installed), lift the cover/clamp and remove your bike. Key Features Versatile design fits most disc brake and suspension combinations with standard 9mm axles. Ratcheting wheel strap quickly secures back wheel to tray. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. Here are some more information for Volvo Cylinder Head:

There are several valves that play a critical role in the efficient operation of your vehicle. For example, intake valves allow fuel into each cylinder's combustion chamber. Exhaust valves allow vapors to exit the chambers following the combustion process. When problems form with the valves, your engine may suffer performance issues, including misfires and compression leaks. It's important to have such problems addressed quickly to preserve your engine's performance.
With that in mind, we'll answer the most common questions people ask about their vehicles' valves. The following should give you a better understanding regarding why they're important, the issues that affect them, and the best approach toward resolving problems.
"What Causes Valves To Fail?"
Like all components, valves suffer wear and tear over tens of thousands of miles. If you drive your car far enough, they'll eventually need to be replaced. However, they can fail long before they wear down due to burning or breaking.
Valves perform their jobs under extremely high temperatures. Exhaust valves run exceptionally hot (up to 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit) because they are exposed to the vapors that result from the combustion process. These high temperatures make them especially susceptible to burning.
When the valves burn, the metal become less sturdy. It's not uncommon for them to suffer fatigue, causing pieces to break off. When this occurs, a compression leak develops.
"What Happens During A Valve Job?"
This type of repair work involves removing the cylinder head to expose the failing valves and guides. The more thorough repair shops will completely dismantle the cylinder head so the individual components can be cleaned and inspected. If cracks are identified, the entire head is either fixed or replaced (cracks are serious because they allow coolant to seep into the combustion chamber).
Next, the guides are replaced since they are usually worn past the point of effectiveness. The valves are either refaced if they're still usable, or replaced.
"How Much Does This Type Of Work Cost?"
The repair bill can range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand. A lot depends on the type of engine in your vehicle and the type of repairs needed. For example, fixing a single valve in a standard 4-cylinder might cost under $400, including the labor. On the other hand, replacing multiple valves, fixing a crack head, and performing related repairs on an import can drive the bill upward.
"What Is A Leakdown Test?"
A leakdown test is used to find compression leaks from your cylinders' combustion chambers. It identifies whether your cylinders are sealing properly and if they're not, measures the percentage leakage. It's worth noting that all engines suffer a degree of compression leakage. Even the best engines leak up to 10 percent of their compression. If a leakdown shows a compression loss of 30 percent or more, have a mechanic check your intake and exhaust valves.
"What Other Problems Can Affect Valves?"
Besides burning, breaking, and suffering normal wear and tear, your engine's valves can also become bent. This can occur for several reasons, but often happens due to a broken timing belt. The belt breaks and sends the cylinder's piston crashing into the valve. If a significant amount of damage results, the valve will need to be replaced. If the damage is minor, it can be refaced and reinstalled.
Engine valves receive far less attention than they deserve. They fill a role without which your vehicle could not operate efficiently. By sealing the combustion chamber, and opening at the precise moment to allow fuel to enter and gases to exit, your intake and exhaust valves perform a critical function. As such, when problems occur, they should be addressed quickly.
Repairing these components can be expensive, and becomes more so with the extent of the damage (i.e. cracks, breaks, etc.). However, neglecting the problem practically ensures it will be more costly to fix down the road.

Ycc Volvo’s Tribute to Women
Looks like Volvo is becoming the “Lady’s Car” after all.
In the United States it is estimated that 54% of all Volvo buyers are women, and same thing is happening in Europe there is also an increasing percentage of female customers purchasing Volvo.
To give tribute to their increasing number of female customers, Volvo Cars has implemented an all-woman team to head up the design and development of the YCC (Your Concept Car) a vehicle especially designed to meet the needs of the most demanding women customers particularly the professional ones.
According to Hans-Olov Olsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation, "This is a fantastic opportunity for us. We can concentrate on the fast-growing group of women customers without losing the men. Because I'm certain that our male customers will love this concept car."
The Volvo YCC was introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show. And as promised the YCC concept was equipped with a host of features designed for women. Volvo has also employed its Ergovision technology, a system which scanned the whole body to come up with data containing the relative proportions of the customer thereby guiding the customer on the perfect driving position which are stored in digital form on his or her personal key unit. This technology is quite amazing since once the personal key is dock on the center console, the seat, steering wheel, pedals, head restraint, and seatbelt automatically adjust to suit the driver’s individual built. The driver’s heel rest was also designed to be fully adjustable allowing variations in the height of shoe heels.
To enable drivers to see out of the car better, YCC designers have equipped it with top-of-the-line Volvo headlights plus lowered the hood and raised the fenders to provide better outside view. The rear window was also extended to the edge of the car so that drivers will always be able to see all four corners of the car. Interior Designer Cindy Charwick said, "It was all part of the aim of making life easier. The cabin environment has been designed so that everything you need is at your fingertips, and your surroundings need to make you feel good too."
Other unique features of the YCC include a center console with a shallow compartment for keys, mobile phones and other small items. The console also slides back to reveal a deeper storage space. A wastepaper basket is also placed inside the vehicle plus another compartment designed to hold a notebook computer.
The rear seats are similar to those found in movie theaters in the sense that they can be folded out of the way when not being used. Passengers need only to lower each seat as they get in. there are eight exchangeable seat pad options with corresponding matching carpet textures and patterns that allow drivers to alter the interior according to their personal taste or style.
The YCC has a 215 horsepower, five-cylinder PZEV (partial zero emissions vehicle) engine with an Integrated Starter-Generator (ISG). The ISG enables the driver to shut off the engine when waiting in traffic or at stop lights and then restart again once the driver presses the accelerator.
Its six-speed Powershift gearbox lets the driver to choose from the fully automatic mode or use the controls on the steering column in shifting gears. The Powershift technology also ensures that the gear changes are always at the right revs resulting to smooth driving and lower fuel consumption.
The YCC was also made easy to maintain with its two capless ball-valve filling points which are basically similar to those found on racing cars and located at the driver’s side door. One is for gasoline while the other one is for washer fluid. And since the windshield washer fluid filler is found on the outside of the car, the engineers have designed the vehicle without a conventional hood. And just get a load of this!—the car will automatically notifies a service center when it is time for routine checkup and set up an appointment. Amazing!
The exterior of the car has also some remarkable features of its own like the Easy-Clean paint that covers the car and has qualities similar to coating on non-stick pan making it impossible for dirt to cling to it. The YCC is a concept car that showcases Volvo’s bright ideas and solutions to make the world a lot better. "We want cars to make life easier for their owners, not complicate things for them," said YCC project manager Eva-Lisa Andersson.

Rover 75 PETROL ENGINE / CYLINDER HEAD?
I have recently purchased a Rover 75 (last 6 months) with very low mileage, only to have the cylinder head gasket blow!
I understand that this seems to be quite a common issue with Rover K-series engines...
Does anyone have any ideas of what could be done to prevent this?
Upon repair the garage fitted a landrover freelander gasket as it has a layer of copper to beef things up (apparently the original Rover gasket had a layer of silicone...possibly the cause of the problem!)
I have owned many different cars over many years, I do not push them hard and I have them serviced profesionally at a competent garage.
Any ideas what I can do to prevent this happening again? I keep an eye on the water already...
Or should I just buy a Volvo!
Don't feel too bad.My friend doesn't take rev's over 3000 in her Rover 200,apparently the temperature ran slightly over hot one day . . . . . . . . . . . . and the next day the head gasket went.
I bought a Rover 400 tdi the same time she bought her's.
Not one bit of bother,it's as fast, but does 48mpg.
I'd trade it for the Rover 75 tdi. It's got a BMW diesel engine, and is bulletproof.
2011 Volvo V60 Wagon Makes Debut
Volvo recently dropped the V70 wagon from its U.S. lineup, replacing it with a front-wheel drive version of the formerly all-wheel drive only XC70, but with any luck the Swedish automaker may bring over its all-new and ultra-stylish V60 wagon to fill the gap. Based on the recently revealed 2011 Volvo S60 sedan, the new V60 wagon will appeal to...
